Did it myself. Was really easy. Took about an hour total. Just remove the OEM parts and put in the stock ones. No screws or anything like that, OEM parts just snap out. They're held on by little clips.

bfnnrgn - when you removed the OEM parts did you break the clips off that held the part to the dash, or is there a way to preserve them?

Which part of the dash? The drivers side or passenger? The drivers side just snaps out, give them a yank and out they come. The passenger side actually slides down, you have to open the glove box. There's 2 tabs behind the piece holding it in. Feel along the bottom of the piece and you will feel 2 holes or slots that you can put a screwdriver etc into to press them down then slide the piece down toward the floor. Don't pull it.

Thanks, that was very helpful!

Now has anyone installed the CF instrument surrounds? The middle piece just slides straight out, but the circular surrounds are giving me trouble.

thanks, I just got my dealer to install them and apparently it was quite a lot of work to get the cluster out and install the surrounds. FYI for anyone who buys them, it will take about 1 hour for a mechanic $160.

2006 SLK55
question about CF

Im Ducatti:

Do you have the 30 performance package and does the carbon fiber (aftermarket) match the factory carbon fiber that comes with the 30?

I have a Ob. black/black car and feel extra CF would really set off the interior.

Thanks

Those CF pieces look top notch. $1300 is a lot of dough, though.

From the look of Imduccati's steering wheel, I'd say he doesn't have the Performance package.

imducatti, congradulations your interior is very nice.

You need the extra cf strips taht go into the dashboard rather than the silver trim.

Enjoy the new interior upgrades.

It's suppose to be from the same company, MP design supplies CF parts to MB. So I assume it's the same.

I don't have the 030 but you are correct that the pieces are all made by MP. I'm still debating what the next interior upgrades will be... I think a lot of leather will be in my future to cover the dash and doors.
