I'm interested in buying an SLK55 AMG maybe around the end of this year, I saw it at the dealer today, but I was surprised that they charge 6k for an AMG package that I never saw on any other AMG car...
whats up with that? shouldnt an AMG come with the rims, CF interior, etc?
any advice or opinions are appreciated

The SLK 55 AMG was also available with a Perfomance Package (like the one of the SL 55 and CLS 55)!
The performance package for the SLK 55 AMG comprises:
* Internally ventilated composite front brake discs, size 360 x 32 mm
* 18-inch twin-spoke AMG alloy wheels, multipiece, size 7.5 x 18 with 225/40 R 18 tyres (front) and size 8.5 x 18 with 245/35 R 18 tyres (rear)
* AMG performance suspension
* AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel in leather/black Alcantara, with silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles
* Carbonfibre interior trim parts

SLK 55 AMG
AMG doesn't necessarily mean that you get CF parts, it's just another trim fitting option. You could get a Black Edition which has a lot more CF, down the doors and so on...

Good luck with your new purchase, please keep in mind that the 030 performance package wheels are even heavier than the non 030 perf package slk55.
If you want a 030 slk change the wheels for spmething lighter ie carlsson u 16 lights.

- automatically screening off mirrors (don't know the exactly english word for it)
- wind deflector (glass)
- Command APS and Surround System (because for the resale - If you want to resale the car)
- Bi-Xenon lights
I don't know if you need airscarf or so - I never had the possibility to test this system!

I absolutely love airscarf ... and would never consider an SLK without it.
If you want a little better handling and brakes I would get the 030 package. It is just a little bit different which is what I wanted.
I guess another would be the HK sound system.

I love having the Performance Package. I got everything, too, except the Ipod and Bluetooth. I like having the only one like it in Charleston, SC. I was going to get the standard SLK55 and put the wheels from the 030 package on. Then I priced them. Saved about $2000 and got all the extras. Especially like the 176 mph increased speed limiter. Trying to find a location I can use that.

other than those options, which pkg is the most worth towards adding to the car? for example (performance, black edition, amg, etc)
sorry im not too familiar with all these features, it just seemed a bit confusing offering an AMG pkg on an SLK55 amg...
