Cayman SLK

Guys check this out, i post thread in 6speedonline asking how they compare Cayman S with SLK

Let say

Cayman VS SLK 200K

Cayman S VS SLK 350

Cayman what ? VS SLK55

You know how they respond

That's make me

(The cayman is 10x better performance and would smoke any slk, including a 55)

What the **** was that

SLK 55 AMG
Leave them alone, it's best not to get there... They're two different cars. And the SLK55 will most definitely smoke the slow Cayman on a dragstrip.

Yep, different cars totally, the Cayman S will only see the back of the SLK55's tail lights on the streets, on a road course, it'll be a different story, the cayman is one of the best handling cars according to every magazine. I think the SLK beats the cayman in every category except on the twisties. Who drives their car to the limits on the streets anyway? Since I only track 4-5 times a year, the SLK wins. Plus the 911 looks alright but the cayman looks funky.

I actually like this baby porsche ... but it really just doesn't have enough HP. I don't care how good it is in the "twisties".

They are both a compromise, like every other vehicle.

On the down side, the Porsche needs more hp. The phone and NAV user interface are better on MB than Porsche, but the Japanese best both.

The MB negatives are the absence of manual transmission in the SLK55. The absence of an SLK63 is also a negative. Also, MBUSA prohibits customers configuration flexibility, prohibits specific options in the US, prohibits specific Designo colors, prohibits Designo color combinations, prohibits specific Designo options and refuses to charge Designo options based on the standard equipment for the model, an SLK55 Designo costs the same as an SLK200, that comes with a lesser interior.

The BMW 135i is the model I'm leaning towards for my next ride.

Looking for a new toy.
As everyone has noted, different cars with different focus. The SLK is a better all round car, and that suits me fine.

Other than a straight line drag the Cayman S will win against any SLK including the AMG...... the better interior and vario roof in the MB however make them quite different cars.
