SLK55 at the DFW Airstrip event

SLK55 at the DFW Airstrip event
For all those who don't wander over to the E55 section much there's a thread about the DFW airstrip event held Saturday with some pics and write ups. However I'll post here here to about the adventures with the SLK55. I had the only one there and it got it's fair share of looks. I would of liked to have ran it more but didn't get to and only ran twice.
This was on a 4/10 mile strip. The first race I got paired up against a blue Ford GT.
I got brutally raped to say the least. 
It wasn't so bad, 2 races later an old M5 got paired agaisnt an orange Porsche RUF RT12 which was even more brutal of a slaughter. The match ups next time need to be a little more even. 
Here we are headed out to the start line.

Next race was against a Subaru Legacy spec B which was just as bad except in my favor this time. All races were from a rolling start at 30 and as you all know 30 is between 1st and 2nd gear so it was terrible to start there. I put it in S mode and selected 1st but as I got to 30 it was right near redline and would upshift to 2nd before I would floor it. Then when I floored it, it felt like it shifted back to 1st for a second then opps, redline, and back to 2nd before it would take off. So I lost a lot of time due to the tranny being stupid and the Subaru pulled on me until it found it's place. I had to play catch up. It did this every time against the Ford GT to, but it wouldn't have made any difference.

I think it's time for that Kleemann kit. I still won't be able to take that Ford GT, but I'll make that Subaru look worse...

Awsome looks fun! I wish there was something like that in CA... god paired up a against a ford gt poor slk55 maybe get some of the FI boys to come down there and see how they hold up against him!

I can't believe you got paired with a ford GT. 
It would have beaten the SLR not to mention the SLK.
I say next time you come prepared and put an SLR engine in your SLK.

It was the first one, it really was a lot of fun. Some of the matchups were wierd but it was all in good fun. There were some old M5s there and a few 911s I wanted to race but didn't get the chance. Quite a few exotics and a lot of new M5s and E55s.

G55, G500 & SLK55
I really like the red on your SLK55, Very unique and has that race feel. With the Kleemann Cams, Headers, Cats, Supercharger you will be hanging with the Ford Gt for sure but the Ford might have a slight advantage due to the wider tyres and such.

I don't, no. My brother did most of the picture taking and he didn't have a camcorder. There are some videos in the thread in the E55 section of some of the other cars though.
