BF Goodrich Comp T/A R1
Bought a couple(265/35 18) for the rears ... I'll be throwing them on and giving my review vs the current Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.
Treadware is 40 for the R1s vs 80 for the michelin Pilot Sport Cups.

update
Haven't posted because I haven't really noticed a difference. The tires do look cool ...
I have yet to do a burn out and see how much extra traction I have ... car is just too loud to do in most places.
BTW the sidewalls are very square on these tires. They do seem to be sticker than the Pilot Sport Cups but I can't tell by how much. These tires do seem to warm up very quickly though.

You are brave, these tires look hardcore! The three problems I personally have with them:
1. Not available in 19's.
2. Not sure how usable they are in the rain. I know the Pilot Cups are very good in the rain, especially for an R-compound.
3. My pilot cups won't last more than 3k miles. How long will these last? 1,000 miles ?

heh heh
My pilot sport cups lasted a bit longer for me. Almost 6k miles. So I expect at least 2500 to 3k miles from the BFG R1s. Most of my miles are highway miles.
Get another set of rims! My 19s run the Goodyear GSD3s for rain. Luckily I only switch rims like twice a year so its not a problem for me.

Okay these tires are definitely a bit squarer than the Michelin Sport cups. If you think you are on the edge of rubbing ... do not use these tires.
I'd say almost 2 millimeters wider than the MSCs. I'm getting a tiny bit of rubbing on both sides right now under very hard cornering. Finally had some time to warm up the tires and do several starts. I guess 40 treadwear still sucks for this amount of HP and weight. I was slipping and sliding like crazy. Running with ESP off it was easy to get the rear to slide to the right.
Right now the only other choices are (advans A048) 265/35, Hoosiers R6 at 255/40 or MT drag radials at 245/40 18 (stock size. The only tire I"m considering at stock size are the drag radials. I'm a little concerned about testing the Hoosier tires since the keep having warning signs all over the place regarding highway driving.
Instead of testing those two out I"m gonna go straight to the MTs in the next few weeks and then give a new report. I have to see how it is to run daily on the drag radials!

Drag radials daily is going to be awesome! I would've done the same thing if only we didn't have so much rain here in Miami! Most people are too scared to drive on R-compounds daily

Rolled at Sonic
But unfortunately they did still rub a little in the back. The R1s are just way too square.
For this set I was using my 18 rims. But yes I still have my 19s(those wear goodyear GSD3s).
I threw on a set of Potenza RE050As on the 18s .. and they suck.

don't think so chappy or I would have tried them ... I'm waiting for the rainy season to pass then I"ll try a couple more sets of R compounds.
So far the michelin sport cups have been my best experience(inclusive of rain).

I've heard good things about the Bridgestone RE01. Have you tried those?
Not sure what traffic is like where you are, but here in ATL there is no where to get r-comps up to temp on the street....at the track is another story of course.
Yoko and Nitto have some new max/extreme tires out....tried any of those? Toyo's r888 is supposed to provide nice grip as well.
