Disappointed in GPS NAV function

Hey everyone,

I've been meaning to ask about this for a while. I must say...the NAV function on my 2005 SLK55 is horrible. First, it doesn't seem like you can enter a specific address...only a range. Also, the visuals (graphics) suck. I can't believe a 2005 MB has such horrible graphics. My TOM TOM is more user friendly and functional.

Is there any way to upgrade it via a software update or something..or am I stuck with this stupid NAV function?

Thanks!

I think that the NAV function was developed several years before your car's manufacture date. I have a 2006 and similiar issues. My garmin Nuvi is as good or better, but I just bought it a year ago. I think the independent manufacturers or more on top of technological updates.

By the way if any one is interested I have 2 OEM NAV DVDs available for sale.

1) ver 2007.1 Part# BQ 6 46 0229
MY04-MY06 S-Class & CL Class
MY04-MY08 E-Class
MY05-MY08 SLK-Class & SL Class
MY06-MY08 CLS-Class

2) ver 2005.3 Part# BQ 6 46 0209
MY04-MY05 CL Class
MY04-MY06 E & S -Class
MY05-SLK Class & SL Class
MY06-CLS-Class

Thanks for the thread hijack...

Anyone know if there are updated cds available that change the layout and graphics of the nav system? Or am I pretty much stuck with what I have right now? Thanks again.

Sorry, for the hijack. I expressed my opinion and experience. Then I figured I'd throw in the NAV DVDs that are laying around my house.

I agree, you tried to help, but your response wasn't appreciated. Someone will welcome a good price on used MB Nav discs.
