my opinion, for me this car is great, not a bit regret at all....you got speed, style, nice handling....and it's a panty dropper..
Just not enough room to do some extra move when you in the car.
mine is 06 with 030...black/black...

There were a few issues with the early ones in 2005 that MB did get sorted out fairly quickly. Sounds like you are already an MB owner, so you likely know the car won't be as trouble-free as something from Japan, but there doesn't seem to be any widespread major issues with the SLK55...you should not be afraid to buy one if you are sure it has been maintained and not abused.

2009 C300, 2007 E550 4matic, 2006 SLK 55 sold, 2001 SLK320 sold
The car ONLY comes in a hard-top convertible. That one of the main reasons for its existence. Only the Black series, out in 2009, has a fixed top.

05 slk55
Hey, I actually am a college student with a 2005 slk 55 and absolutley love it. I drive it back and fourth to school and even work. I live in the nyc region and the roads out here suck. I manage to dip and swerve around pot holls and use it as a daily driver. But can never take it out in the snow. It's like ice skates on a 5-year old flying down a ice skating ring lol. But you cannot go wrong with a slk55 especially the great deals they got on pre-owned ones. This car model was introduced in 2005 and still 4 years later does not look outdated, I feel it has another 5 years before it gets outdated by other AMG models. Also these are one of the least manufactured AMG models therefore you won't see too many of them. Where I live in Staten Island at one point I was the only one with the car model. Also got a good amount of trunk space. One of my favorite features has to be the hardtop convertible as it only take about 10-15 seconds to fold down which is great when your at a red light. Also this car has mostly all the features of the newer amg with a fraction of the price tag. So if your looking for a fun car, or a head turner... this is the best car out their for the price. Also not to mention you can just leave the car stock!
