I paid more for the hood then I should have
$6500, it was made in Germany and an exact
Replica of the SL65 black series hood
It is n actual brand new SLK55 hood and modified
But they did a great job... But being a one
Off I had to pay through the nose and the
Euro to dollar killed me

Original SLK 55 AMG Black Series
FYI:
SLK 55 Black Series.
wide front and rear fenders, cf roof, other front and rear bumper, vents in front fenders some exterieur cf parts and much differences in the interiour section :-)
so you never can put a slk 55 into an black series -
it`s a different chassis - take a look at the rear fenders ;-)
you have a very very very nice SLK 55 AMG - but it will never be an black series :-)
best regards from germany

Hey Spark.
IMO, having a fully Kleemannized SLK55 is better than a Black Series. It performs better in nearly every category, retains the convertable top, and is less money (which was why I did it for the wife over a BS). While I can appreciate a BS purchase & the car's small additional performance mods, it was still too weak in the power dept (400 Hp in a 3200 lb car is respectable, but too weak for clientele that want more striaghtline "go").

In essence, the BS owner would have flushed an additional $70k USD (the value of a new SLK55) to obtain a fixed roof (which you can modify yourself if you truly want a fixed roof). It, IMO, would be a foolish use of money & would also diminish the value of the BS car as it would have been modified (even though Kleemann's mods absolutely rock)
I guess the way I see it...... If a buyer really wants a track car (with a real transmission), they can buy a 997 Twin Turbo or a GT3, etc. These cars will spank a BS on any track for about the same money (maybe a bit more for the Turbo but seriously, what's an additional $25k when you are spending $130k?)
I like the BS, it just is not a world class sprorts car (neither is my S7 - it lacks the proper tranny & both cars are too FAT...this is why I have my RX-7 - it fills the true sports car itch I have always had ). One man's opinion. Take care.

The Clear Lenses are Smoked, with LED's replacing the lights.. got them from Chrometec
I havn't dynoed the car since the Kleeman install... Hopefully I will find the time to do it soon. Before the Kleeman Supercharger, with just the headers and ECU tune I dynoed it as 365 RWHP... so another 100 HP to the wheels "should" be realistic... as now it not only has the Supercharger, but the complete exhaust with no cats as well.

Is this the car being sold?
http://www.2040-cars.com/Mercedes-Be...harged-974191/
Funny how the car being advertised now says the hood and fenders are Factory Black series parts when they are clearly not...

Yes, it's the same car.
What I found interesting was the price. Back in October, I had my 360 on consignment with a local broker when this car popped up on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $35K. I made an agreement with the broker for them to buy this car, which they would then trade to me (plus cash) for the car I had on consignment, saving me the ~10% Washington State sales tax on the deal. After offering the asking price, however, the car went off the market, from the sounds of it because he found a local buyer. Now seven months later the car is back on the market at $65K.
Bummer for me, but that's one heck of a flip for someone.
