I have a 2006 SLK55 with a paint code of 197, Obsidian Black. I thought that a simple respray of some trunk lid scratches would be no big deal. The paint supplier has mixed the code twice, and the paint still is off. The Obsidian Black that is existing has much more obvious silver fleck in it when seen in direct sun or with a work light on it than the mixed paint that was supplied to me, which has less metallic, and even what looks like a non-silver looking fleck (bluish or darker looking fleck) which gives it a "blacker" look but less metallic sparkle.
I am hoping that someone else may have had a similar experience and tell me what code or variance to the code, or ???
BTW, the paint supplier has proven to be very reliable for my past projects and I have never had a problem with them getting the right color from a code before.
