Anyone know why the cornering light function...

...is not compatible with the AMG kit?

At first I thought it maybe V8 size related, but it has to do with the AMG body kit. The C class is similarly affected, which is strange.

Whats the technical reason?

the cornering-light is only avalible with bi-xenons and the standart front-bumper and -foglights. the AMG-bumper has another light-angle and the cornering light will not work.

but i think it will look very strange if you turn into a street an suddenly only one foglight will go on.

Felix,

So how does it work then - is it just the fog light that comes on or something? Sounds a bit pants. I assumed that there was a swivelling part in the normal headlamp assembly - more like the E class version you see in the TV advert.

SLK_55 - if you have the AMG body kit - you CANNOT have the cornering light function. Hence even with Bixenon the SLK55 (or AMG body kit equipped 200, 350) does not get the cornering light function.

I'm absolutely positive. I have it written on my SLK price list from Benz. Are you still not convinced?

Anyone know how it works (on non AMG body kit models obviously)?

sorry for late answer.

if you drive a corner with low speed (up to 30km/h) and set the indicator-light than one of the fog-lights will turn on. but it really looks strange to me.
