In regard to the SLK55, does anyone happen to know if the designo option comes with a wood/leather steering wheel? If it does, I assume the shift buttons are still in place?

yes, you can order whatever you like wood, colours and stiched leather too...

but it might take like 1 month to 8 weeks, if you were are in Europe in addition to the waiting list

Thanks for your response, I'm not located in Europe (in the U.S.). I looked at the brochure and it doesn't state whether the designo option comes with a wood/leather steering wheel....not that I noticed anyway.

I just assumed that it did, being designo cars seem to come with them.

In the U.S. its an option, you have 3 designo choices to choose from and you pay the asking price.

1. Espresso Edition

2. Graphite Edition

3. Chablis Edition (think that's how its spelled, kind of a beige color with beige leather).

Wood is Poplar on all editions, roll hoops in leather, nappa leather seats.

Available for SLK350 and 55.

I'd love to personally see a car in graphite green. Every colour swatch or car picture I've seen doesn't really show it very well. I'm very tempted to get the graphite green designo paint (only) with the tobacco brown nappa leather. I think that it's a killer combo. What do you think?

In the U.S., yes indeed....that about does it. You get the different mats as well, but that's all that I know of.

Things I'm not sure about.

1. Does it include a wood wheel?

2. Is there any other extended leather besides the roll hoops? I doubt it, but you never know until one actually arrives.

how much more is the designo interior?
i really like the letaher covered roll bars.

well im looking at my r171 equiptment list (canadian spec) and it shows the wood and leather wheel and shift knob as options if ordering a designo pkg. u can also choose 2 tone leather wheel and knob instead.
also leather centre consoloe and the rollbars.

the 3 color packages shown here are: tamo charcoal wood, elm natural wood, or fiberglass trim. no idea wat they look like though.

BTW nice choice of cars! hehe very similar to mine. what mods have u done to them?

i already asked for several options that are not offered in NA but available in europe.
and YES i offered to pay more but still cant get little things like park distance and heated steering wheel

Rubbish. I happen to know of several cars where Designo Design Studio went nuts and spent a fortune. You are either talking out of your proverbial or you are talking to the wrong sales person.

If the Sultan of Brunei can order several hundred modern cars with a "Gull Wing" chassis complete with gull wing doors then I dont see the problem.

You saying to me that I dont understand is laughable. You can even have Hermes hand stitched leather seats flown in from Paris.
