2008 CL63 AMG
Interesting Options

Hey all -- I just put in a pre-order for the first 2006 SLK55 coming to my dealer and I was wondering what options are a MUST.

I was also wondering if I could get my saleswoman to dig and order my car with some 'special' euro-options. I saw a picture of an SLK55 in Capri Blue with Black on Blue leather -- Is that even possible to get here? I know it is with BMW and Audi so I'm sure some of you have tried.

Thanks guys and gals,
Stephen

AMG will do custom work but it will cost you $$$.

I remember seeing a pepto-bismol pink SL 55 AMG once... the ugliest thing I ever saw but it still had a fire breathing 496hp hand built supercharged V8 underneath it.

Options-

I highly recommend the airscarf (under $400) and also the HK radio upgrade as the stock radio has no fade adjustment and no rear speakers.

If Parktronic is the automatically movable RH mirror then, yes, it is available. It's on my SLK 55.

parktronic are the sensors in the front and the back of the car ,, it helps you to park easily , and reminds you with a sound and li'l light infront and on the back that you are about to reach the object if it was red...

well, i have it but again my SLK55 is european... and isn't made for the US market...

We don't know what colors or options will be available on 2006 US models until the order guides come out (probably around July).

If you can get your salesperson to get custom configurations including European color combinations or other options, let us know, I am sure there would be plenty of people wanting to order... I've not seen anyone who could do this yet.

Yeah, AMG will do just about anything you want with enough money... except ship it to the US.

Hey Scorchie, US-spec SLK doesn't come with parktronic system, and that option is not available. Do you guys have anything that I can retrofit this system onto my 05 SLK???

If money is not an object, I can help you order ANYTHING that is available on an Euro-spec car and put them on a US-spec car. Feel free to contact me for more details.

Yes, it is not a problem to retrofit to you car. Please note that the R171 SLK (and W209 CLK) have no separate impact strips on the front bumpers... so installing parktronic involves drilling holes for the sensors, or replacing the complete bumper.

So what's it going to cost us? Got my '55 coming near Christmas, heaven forbid that I back it into some hippie's vw in Berzerkeley.

Why, yes, Yes I am. My SLK 55 is my first MB. I have mixed emotions about the car. On the street it just looks like another little silver car. I have been a Vette owner (and still am) since 1973. Vette's have a distinguished presence on the street.
