For any of you waiting to get your SLK55--the wait is worth it. For those of you already with the car--you will fully understand my next statement.
WOW!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
I have had my car for a month now , however work has kept me from any real driving. I took the car out this past weekend and let it go--and again--WOW--OH my GOD!! Great car--loads of fun. Forget the options--forget the color--forget your age--it is all about the car. We are talking a real real nice car here. I test drove several Slk350's at a Mercedes test drive clinic in Philadelpia,, and the SLK350 is not even close to the SLK55. Raw power in the SLK55--great handling and a huge injection of all out FUN!!!! My first car was a "67" GTO, and I have not had as much fun in a car since , till I got the SLK55-- thanks MB for giving me back my youth. Trust me--just get the car--drive it and have FUN--thats what it is all about. I have an "87" Ferrari Testarossa , "03" BMW Z4-3.0,, and an "01" SLK 230,, and I am having more fun with the SLK55 than with the other three. "Of course" there will be a faster and better something out there tomorrow--but this is today--and for my money the SLK55 is the best pocket rocket out there--plus you get the extra "fountain of youth" feeling thrown in for free!!. Enjoy all!!!!

A SL55 delivered 8/18/07, and an E55 wagon delivered 5/11/05
The big difference on the GTO vs SLK is the SLK can stop and turn the GTO can go fast and straight but pray you don't have to stop it quickly of turn. Yeah I know they are 2 differant types of beasts....BTW if someone puts a GTO emblem on a 67 Pontiac Le Mans they would be a poser. Wolf
