Good. Something for the SLK55s to compete with.

In the February 2005 issue of Roundel, Bob Roemer (broemer@roundel.org) writes the following:
" And now for Z news: BMW M has reversed its earlier proclamation that it would not produce an M version of the Z4 roadster. The new M roadster will use the M3's 400 horsepower, four-liter V8 engine and will debut sometime next year."

i read somewhere on bimmerforums.com that the V8 might be 3.6 or 3.8 liters instead of 4.0. I also read on bimmerforums.com that bmw might just cancel the V8 and use a new I-6. I hope they use a V8 though, then bmw owners cant say "bmw makes so much power out of the I-6 blahblahblah"
man if bmw made a 400hp 3.6/3.8liter I-6, amg owners would never hear the end of it. omg......

Don't be surprised if output of the M Z4 engine is down some from the same engine in the sedan - restrictive exhaust routing, etc.
