I'm also on a 350Z forum and one of the members there just bought a C6. His engine's crank pulley fell out and caused some engine damage.....

well i guess i will find out in about 3 hours. my car arrived this week and my company is hosting the SVT cobra club drag day in jackson. i am going to take the car down the 1/4 a few times to see what it will do.

i broke the car in easy this week. i hope that does not affect it negatively

here it is by the way sitting outside my shop. the pic is a bit dull because i took it thru the window of my office. diamond silver with black interior.

regards
george

Hmmmm... looks very nice. I've ordered the 18" 5 spokes on mine, but it's not too late to change the spec and I'm wavering...

I usually don't track my cars, but since I'm only keeping this car until April, I thought I'd give it a shot. If I find the time, I will take it to the track again... Perhaps take out the spare this time
That's damn good. You will get in the 12's and I know what you mean by first time. This 13.3 run was the first time I ever dragged an automatic car in the 1/4 mile.

but now that the mags are actually tersting them the times seem quite slow. a 1/4 mile time of 13.5 is just slow in todays market. i was hoping the car would come in at at least low 13's maybe high 12's.

i have my car on a boat right now and should arrive in about 2 weeks. i guess i am just having last minute doubts. i also am just used to having VERY fast cars. my prev. were many vipers, porsches, and an 04 E55.

so i guess there is a point to my post

anyone mod their slk55 yet short of a supercharger???

anything worth doing ?? i was hoping maybe to bump it to about 400/400 which should get the car into the high 12's.

thanks
george

our friend Dinko got it as 12.7 (stock) .... and you're saying 13.5? whats wrong with your car?

For the price of the 55, you could have had the new ZO6 as was mentioned. That is definietely a faster car, but I don't like the looks (both inside and out) and it has a fixed roof

Some people have mentioned getting 0-60 times of 4.3 seconds, and if you have an extra $20k, you can go Kleemann and push it to 600hp.

btw: my 55 has been quite reliable. I had an SRS error, but the dealer replaced a wire for it (took about an hour), and it never made it impossible to drive the car. I've clocked in over 20 thousand kilometers on it so far and still love every minute
