Black & Silver SLR in the OC!
Hi Guys,
I've seen a couple of SLRs in Irvine and Newport Beach in the wild recently. I don't think they are dealer's cars it looks like they are actually driven by their owners. The last one I saw was a silver SLR around midday during the week last week on Jamboree and Alton. Just curious if belongs to anyone on this board???

I've seen two silver ones in Newport where I live. One is an old guy and the other is a 24 year old girl. A friend that works at Fletcher Jones told me her grandmother came in and wrote a check for $700,000+. I also see a silver Enzo every once in a while.
Crappy phone cam pic. It caught me off guard.

I recently did see a slilver one being driven by a young looking blonde girl. She was leaving that community on the ocean side of PCH and Dover in Newport (the one where John Wayne used to live). I wonder what the daily driver insurance is on the SLR

The young guy you guys are probably talking about in the silver SLR is this Arab guy who started a mortgage company. He worked out at the 24hr fitness ultra sport in Newport/Irvine (off Von Karman). Apparantly he is around 30 and is a billionaire. Oh yeah, he alternated everyday between the SLR, his red Enzo, silver Carrera GT, and then some other slightly more discreet cars. First time I saw the guy though when i was at the gym I didn't know who he was and saw him playn basketball with some people and a dude was dribbling the ball and he just grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him right down. I saw that and was like man what an a-hole. Found out later on that day that that was the guy driving the Carrera GT outside. Go figure.....maybe it was just one of his friends or something.

The top 1% of americans make I think $360,000 a year. When you see someone in a CL, SL or Bentley, it's probably leased at around $2000 - $3000 per month, plus the $5000 to $6000 mortgage, add to that expenses and lifestyle and it dosen't leave you very much. I would say the average person driving around in a $100K+ car in the OC can safely be put in the $180K to $240K per year range.
I have no idea where that rant came from....

So if you don't know of them, they don't exist?
I can guarantee you that there are more than 2 billionaires (yes, with a "B") in OC.

I'm guessing that list is based on tax returns filed in Calif. So if the person files in another state or country, they won't show up on that list.

The Forbes list shows the city of residence. For example, I'm sure a place like aspen has no billionaires and very few if any millionaires as year round residents however most of the home owners are but live elsewhere.

I'm not sure how many homes in OC are vacation homes so there could be many more billionaires than Forbes listed.

If you have ever purchased a $200,000.00 range car, you should know that it takes a little more than credit.

720 plus scores alone wont cut it.

I have no idea why you quoted my post with your resonse...it has nothing to do with my post. But then again, I will never understand the person who would drive a $200k+ car and need financing either. Its one thing to finance or lease a $40, $50, even $90k car because some find a tax benefit since many use their cars for business. If I needed financing to buy a $200k car, I can't afford it.
