SLR Sighting in Dallas (pics)
SLR McLaren, for sale at Ewing Autohaus, Plano (Dallas) TX. I was able to take a couple camera phone pics, one a unique overhead shot from the business office (no public access).
They wouldn't allow me (or anyone) to sit in it. Can't imagine why...

Very nice. One of the reasons they probably didn't let you sit in it is because it's kind of tricky to get into the thing. Most people, when they first try, end up kicking (yes kicking) the dash while trying to swing the first leg in. If I were a dealer I wouldn't want to chance it either.

BOB, I was there Friday when I took my car in for service. Did you see the chip in the paint on the hood? Wonder how much that would knock down the price if the buyer notices it.

I didn't ask about the price, because I was not interested in buying it...
I didn't notice the chip in the hood...
I didn't want to get in...
Especially now that I understand the wheels are painted. Offering anyone a +/- $400K car with stock wheels that are painted is despicable.

If that is the car that I am thinking about, it is a 2005, They have had it for a couple of years and it has been on and off the showroom floor several times. When it was new, they were asking MSRP + $300K or $755K.

That's how most of the ones just sitting on the floor are just sitting on the floor....

I don't know why they think they could get 300k more than the MSRP. I love the look of the car but I don't think they have a high-end following like Ferrari (as with the Enzo), and thus they could not sell at such high prices. I am not saying there are not MB owners who could afford this, I just think that at this price range you go for something more than a MB. This is why I feel it is the SLR-McLaren, to promote high end clinets. I love MB, but for 750k I am not interested.
