I don't think it's about the people who have paid MSRP for the SLR not knowing any better, they just don't give a ****. $100k is a week's pay to them probably.
Fair enough. I understand what you're saying and personally agree (ie. my friends, family and myself always research and negotiate until the cows come home). I just don't like people being taken advantage of. SLR buyers are most likely unconcerned by how much they spend but with that ultra-expensive exception, most people believe what they are told and don't deserve to pay over MSRP.

On that car, "close" can mean tens of thousands of dollars. Everything is relative.

Why don't people just chill out? Do all of you behave this way all day long, or is this your internet forum decorum? (I'm a poet and didn't even know it )

Calling people liars, and cheats, especially when you don't know them is not very cool. Someone gets a good deal as long as they think it was a good deal, who are we to judge?

[QUOTE=Vadim @ MBLN;1894172]roccoriley:MB has decided to increase production - thus increasing supply which means decreasing demand and therefore lower price.QUOTE]

Is this really true? I just read an article in car magazine and it said that Mercedes sale goal was short about 1000 SLR due to slow sale. Don't know if this is true but of all the dealer in San Diego (MB Escondido, Hoeh Mercedes and S.D Mercedes) all have at least one on show room floor.

Word on the street that MB will buy out McLaren. If that happen than we will have a number of more "affordable" McLarens within several years.

Dont forget me Vadim, I still want an SLR. Let me know when you have a good deal for me. For the record I trusted Vadim to bring my sl65 to me and had never met him and now he has earned any MB sales from me or any one I know looking!

Thank you for your business and the kudos.

It was as much as my pleasure as it was yours -

The most true form of what something is worth will always be what someone is willing to pay for it!!!! Always has been Always will be. I like the story of the guy that paid the extra 5k because it was Friday and he wanted it for the weekend..I love it. He wanted it and was tired of looking. It was worth the 5k probably that he didnt have to spend any more time shopping...We are guys here mostly. We buy, we dont shop! It is all relative. I know I can buy most anything off ebay and save money but sometimes when im ready for it I just go get it. That 20, 200 or 2,000 I might save isnt always worth waiting. And as basic economics tells us just like the other guy said. Supply and demand!

I dont think Paris Hilton cares how much her SLR cost. She just wanted the car and she got it. Sounds like a similar situation. In her case or it could be anyobdy, the time it would take to research was more valuable than the thousands of dollars she overpaid.
