it doesn't really matter, i'm not even in the state, but the car, the engine and the trans every one of them is in a different state, so i'll shipp them all to the place that will do the job? so basically it could be in any state as long as it's in the US
thanks
thanks

...if I thought anyone in the states could do the swap, EVOSPORT would be my first guess. Might want to call them and find out if they could or are willing to do the swap.
...then again, with enough money and time, nothing is impossible.

The AMG 55 engine is de-tuned for the SLK 55 to about 350 BHP, reason being the SLK is a small, light car which will be hand full keeping it on the road with the standard 500 BHP, thus de-tuned.
How will this car perform with an SLR engine and so much more power and torque??????? I think you will have a difficult time keeping the tires connected to the road with even the slightest gas pedal application.

I think you need to talk to a specialty shop to find out what is involved with this engine swap. Does everything fit or are you looking at major modifications. I think your best bet is to contact companies like Brabus or Kleeman, also take a look at www.mercedestuningmag.com
there are resources there you can contact.
Good luck!

I wish the poster luck, but don't see why he just doesn't go with a full Kleemann set up (maybe even allow Brabus to bore it to 6 Litres & then put the Kleemann set up on it - should make pretty close if not more power than the SLR set up & would be less money & less of a hassle?)

I would contact Brabus as they would probably be best situated to help you out with added reinforcements to the structure and chassis of the car to cope with that added power. I think I remember someone having done this exact swap in the UAE or someplace in the Middle East. There is a video of an SLK with an SLR swapped engine working an Enzo on YouTube somewhere.
Good luck and keep us posted!

This has been done before in the UAE. The man who did it posted a very long description in a different forum of how he did it.
Basically, its a totally custom job. It has hand made parts and there exists no software for the transmission.
Heat is a major major problem for the car so you have to make a custom hood for it too. You would be better off contacting the UAE prince who already owns this conversion.

Mohamed Bin Sulayem - has been seen racing all over the world. If I am not mistaken he also races boats.

It seems to me that people are not willing to spend 3 minutes on google. Finding people is very easy.

It depends on how much money you can spend into this project.
You have the engine? Sounds good.
But what about the transmission, rear axle, brakes???
A parachute doesn't work on the road...
Did you ever thought about this?
The AMG brakes are really good. But you have to swith to ceramic!
Btw: Where did you get the engine from?

The OP stated on another forum, that he lives next to the guy who has the SLR-powered SLK55 in the UAE. He wants someone in the US to do the job...
