SLR/C199/R199/Z199: SLR Changes

SLR Changes
Will the SLR changes get the updated rear end and modified bumpers and wheels that were introduced with the SLR Vision roadster. I disliked the rear end of the coupe (as did Mercedes i guess) but loved the one on the Roadster. Also is the SLR going o have a 5 or 6 speed automatic. And what about the SL55's F1 paddles. Plus another thing to think of is direct injection too. Well hope someone has some answers.

Hopefully M-B will incorporate the most modern procedures into the production version SLR, both stylistically and technically.
And what is this about SL55 F1 paddles? Is this a confirmed option on the new SL-Class?

Out Of Control!
Since i think the SLR will be the flagship roadcar for MB they should put all the advanced stuff into it.
As far as the SL55 paddles i have read a few mags all stating the the SL55 will use the SL55 paddles. So yes!

They are not paddles (aka ferrari), they are buttons on the back of the steering wheel (where the rim's meet two of the spokes)
- Same idea I guess !

According to Ulrich Bruhnke AMG boss, the SLR will be as far removed from the SL 55 as the SL55 is from the SL 500.
I wish I could afford one!
here is a pic that shows the shift button on the SL55...look behind the steering wheel...for the light grey button...looks here like it is on the steering column but really is on the back side of the spoke...one on each side....left is down shift...right is upshift.

The thing to keep in mind is that the buttons/paddles, whatever they will be are nothing more than re-located automatic shifter controls unless they activate a manual transmission as in Ferrari F1 paddles. The Ferrari F1 paddles activate a true clutch and true manual transmission via computer/hydraulics and servos. Quite a different animal!
