I think these are old pics from DM that Autospy is posting again. It's still the non-production version, and I think that might be why it's giving you the Batmobile vibe. I'm pretty sure we'll see the prodection version pics very soon.

Even if these pictures were around a long time...
The info that these cars were going to be twin-turbo has also been around as LONG as these pictures...

Here is the lastest info: The SLR is still based on the 5.5 liter V8 supercharged engine and will be introduced at the IAA 03 in Fall with deliveries commencing the beginning of the next year
It will have 612hp to top the CL 65 AMG with 0-100Km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds. 0-200 Km/h (124 mph) in less than 10 seconds with a top speed of about 330 Km/h (205 mph).
The car appearently will have side exhausts and will cost around 360000 Euro
