When the new Formula-1 season gets underway in Manama/Bahrain (12‑14 March 2010), it will mark the debut of the most spectacular and powerful Official F1 Safety Car of all time. The job of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, which will be launched on 27 March 2010, is to ensure maximum safety in Formula 1. The "gullwing" model replaces the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG, which was used as the Official F1 Safety Car in 2008 and 2009. As in the last two years, the Mercedes-Benz C-class 63 AMG Estate will be used as the Official F1 Medical Car for the new season.

Will this week's Australian GP give us the pleasure to see this baby in action??? normally on the first corner of the track there's always some incidents

And in fact we saw the beauty running in Melbourne. Even being a tiny car compared with the CLK...it still looks really good around the F1's

I just hope so much that there will be much accidents in the F1. That will makes it - next that we see the gorgeous SLS - more exciting to look at.

To day they showed clips on TV of both the SL and the SLS going round
as safety car on F1.I am sorry but IMHO the SL wins hands down, on or off the track.
