Just drove a good friend of my father's SLS. He got a red one, gotta love rich doctors. MAN THIS THING IS FAST! But not only that, I couldn't help but notice how smooth it is. He said something about drive by wire, so there is no physical linkage between the steering wheel and the wheels? It sure did feel good whatever it was. Just to point out though, it wasn't as easy getting in and out as I would have liked. For a shorter guy like myself (5'8") I found it hard to close down the door when sitting, and when you got up, you found yourself ducking so as not to smack your head. But I would never let that prevent me from getting this car, now if only I had a couple of hundred thousand lying around...

With just 300 expected for MY2011 in the US, and maybe just 200 or less of them delivered so far, and then only a fraction of those that would even know of this forum, perhaps it is not surprising that no one has posted about their car yet.

There's also drive by wire braking and perhaps the SLS has drive by wire steering aswell but don't quote me on it..

Much less $ than the mighty SLR but it was the same thing with them. They hardly ever posted. Weird too, the Lambo forums are packed with owners discussing them, and they ain't cheap.....

I've had mine since the release on May 10th. Fantastic car! I have no complaints. It rides better than expected. Engine sound is irresistible. Power and acceleration is just outrageous, yet it's a very comfortable, drivable car around town. Fit and finish is flawless. Iridium silver with red leather, Bang & Olufson, forged wheels and carbon fiber console. Absolutely no regrets. I have to allow extra time on my errands, because when I return to the car, a crowd has gathered to take pictures. It really is a show-stopper. Entry & exit criticism from non-owners is baseless. It is very easy, easier that conventional doors. Get out and step forward in one motion. I don't hit my head on the door, but then I didn't hit my head on the canopy when I was flying F-15s either.

The only SLS in my area showed up at the dealer and it turned out to be for the owner of the dealership....and he lives near Detroit! One brief glimpse.
