SLS/R197/C197 AMG: Curious question regarding performance of SLS AMG.

Curious question regarding performance of SLS AMG.
It's an absolutely sick car! I wish I could have the priviledge of driving and owning one. 
I've seen one before in the flesh and it is quite a looker. Sounds great with that deep roar and it definitely gets anybody's attention.
Now to the question. Is the SLS AMG faster or slower than the SLR Mclaren? Overall of course stock = stock. My gut for sure says the rocket SLR even though it slightly confuses me as to why Mercedes AMG would make the "successor" to the SLR slower in performance.
Speaking of which, I just saw a GTboard race where a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 Valentino Balboni put several car lengths on an SLS right from the get go...
