$6,995.00*

The SLS AMG M159 engine made headlines by achieving a specific output figure (horsepower per liter) that rivals the world's most uncompromising supercars.

ECS is honored to expand upon this engine's exceptional achievement by raising that figure to even more rarefied air.

The New ECS Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Headers and Center Exhaust utilizes stepped equal-length headers mated to a 3" stainless steel, mandrel bent dual exhaust with X-pipe and 200cpi metallic high-flow catalytic converters to develop a staggering 42 additional wheel horsepower at 5500 RPM.

Fits:
SLS AMG (2011-2014)

NewportSLS,

This system does come with 200cpi metallic high-flow catalytic converters. Considering California does have extremely strict emissions, I can't tell you for sure this system will pass.

If you don't mind me asking, why have you chosen to use an X crossing rather than an H?

X-pipe is might better for high rpm air flow as the X actually increases scavenging effects by balancing all the pulses better. It also sounds better than an Hpipe too

Excellent job on the headers guys, fantastic exotic sounding exhaust. One question....

The dyno shows peaks gains of 23hp and 37tq, but you claim 42hp & 41 to respectively. I assume those apply to maximum midrange gains? If so at what RPMs do those respective numbers happen at? Thx

Tjandegi,

My apologies, I am not sure how I missed your comment yesterday. ML63 AMG is correct . The X-pipe was used to maximize the airflow at higher RPM's as well as maximize performance. Generally a X-pipe will have higher gains over an H-pipe.

ML63 AMG,

Thank you for the kind words!!

As far as the dyno chart is concerned, the peak numbers are measuring the maximum HP and TQ on the dyno run. So for the stock setup we saw 452 HP @ 6500 RPM and 393 ft/lbs @ 4630 RPM (all numbers are to the wheels). After our system was installed we saw 475 HP @ 6500 RPM (+23 WHP) and 430 ft/lbs @ 4730 RPM (+37 ft/lbs).

The maximum gain is where the maximum gain was seen on the dyno. The maximum gains with our system were 42WHP @ 5,500 RPM and 41 ft/lbs @ 5,400 RPM.

I hope this helps clear things up. If there is anything else I can do please let me know.

Interesting. I have the stock system but removed the resonators and kept the H pipe. What type of dyno setup did you use for the stock numbers you posted? I would like to do a comparison of if the resonators have any influence on power. Maybe I'll chop the H and install an X and do another comparison as well.

Tjandegi,

We use a Mustang AWD-500 dyno. Both the stock system and ECS Tuning system dyno runs were on the same day with multiple runs, to make sure the numbers were as accurate as possible.

I hope this answers your question. If there is anything else I am able to help you with please let me know!

cls55,

The subframe does not need to be removed to install the headers. Only the front wheels and fender liners were removed for access. If you have any other questions please let me know!

Did you have any issues with the relocation of the O2 sensors?Like erratic fluctuations(RPM)or higher gear lower RPM sputtering? Most of people with long tube headers have this issue.
Thank you

cls55,

We did not have any erratic engine behavior after the installation, or throughout our long term testing.

If you have any additional questions please let me know!
