SLS/R197/C197 AMG: Silver Arrow SLS for Sale in CA
#27
My first post here. Congratulations on your beautiful SLS! I got mine silver/red and black seats with 6,300 miles on it from a Ferrari dealer in Florida last week. I love it so much that I'm considering driving this one and placed a refundable deposit today on another one(silver/black seats) I found with 2,800 miles at a Mercedes dealer. If I buy the second one, it will be stored for later : )

My wife and kids want to send me to car-rehab. I'm guessing I'll see you there.

I'll look into this car-rehab thing : )
Once I figure out how to post photos, I'll upload some.
Meanwhile, can I get some opinions from the members here as to the following:
1. Fair market value for a 2011 silver/black with ~2,600 miles, basic carbon fiber interior option(not the one with CF door sills) and CF rear view mirrors, 10 spoke alloy wheels, performance package.
2. Later resale value for the above-described car due to the fact that it's not silver/red. It's silver/black.
Thanks all!

Congrats on your purchase! I think the SLS you mentioned is a good deal at ~$145-150k. A year to six months ago I would have said $130k but with so few for sale, price have escalated and will probably go for around $150k. Maybe a little less considering it's out of warranty now.
In regards to future value, silver/black will probably hold value pretty well. Probably not as much as silver/red but it's still a desirable color combo. Heck, any color combo will be desirable in the future!

Was out fiddling with the car and couldn't stop staring at it so I decided to take a picture.
I found an old iPhone 4 and turned it into my music jukebox. Just going to leave it in the glovebox, wired to aux for sound and to 12V for power. Went for a test drive and it worked great. I'm wondering though, doesn't the SLS have a 5 or 10 GB hard drive onboard? Can I just rip the songs from my iPhone to the onboard drive?
Has anyone else with carbon brakes noticed that you can hear them engaging at low speeds (with music off). It's not a squeak or anything annoying - more like the sound I get on my carbon road-bike wheels. Kinda neat.

Can't speak on downloading songs to the car, I just listen to sat radio. Another member found a great Bluetooth adapter you can purchase to stream music.
In regards to the cc brakes, I can't really hear anything on mine. I removed the resonators and it's slightly louder so all I hear is the beautiful exhaust note. Butttt if you ever track your car or get the cc brakes warmed up, you'll be in for a nice treat. They are absolutely incredible!

I know how you feel about staring at your SLS into the garage.

Just picked her up!
1st job will be to take off the front plate holder. yuk.
2nd order of business...The transmission update has definitely not been applied. My wife's torque converter automatic (Ghibli) shifts way faster. Gotta get his rectified asap.
What a monster though. I didn't have much opportunity to really drive it hard, just floating along the 405 to get home. I managed to average 20 mpg though - which was impressive. The ceramic brakes are other worldly...my god.
According to the dealer, they could have sold this SLS 10 times - in fact, there were at least 2 very unhappy campers (who I beat to the punch that afternoon I called).

Rear looks awesome! Why on earth did they put those Lego blocks there in the first place? Was it a US DOT requirement?
