I have a 2018 Smart Foretwo Electric car.
so my key is stuck in the ignition and cannot come out. Tried WD40,jiggling, nope. Called AAA, Key stuck in ignition and draining main battery also cannot lock doors put a new battery into the FOB but both the key nor the backup key works at all or makes any sounds
they disconnected the 12 volt battery to reset car, nope.
12 volt battery fully charged, main electric battery
fully drained. Tried to recharge but it did not charge?
I think because key still in ignition. Whenever I have charged it I always have taken out the key.
Have you tried to see if the locking mechanism on your steering wheel is locked? I had this happen to me once and it was because the steering wheel lock had engaged and I had to muscle back to unlock it. Hope this helps!
