I do not see a forum for the 600 Pullmans. I find the info on this forum very helpfull and am considering shopping for a 600 but, would love to talk with current owners first. Not that I can afford a Gullwing but, didn't see a 'special' place for that either.

Just my $0.02...

Hey, let me know what to add and I can add it!

Do you know what the chassis code was for the car?

Saprissa, I have added a lot of older MercedesBenz forums, let me know if there are more!

OK, Ricky, but there's a bunch.... I'm a die-hard Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, so there's tons of models out there, but here is a good start:

W100 Class
600 4-dr. Sedan (1964-1972)
600 4-dr. Pullman (1964-1972)
600 6-dr. Pullman (1965-1971)

W105 Sedan
219 (1956-1959)

S/SE/SEb/SEL-Class (W108) Sedan
250S, 250SE, 300 SEb, 280S, 280SE, 280SEL (1965-1973)

SEL-Class (W109) Sedan
300SEL, 300SEL 3.5, 300SEL 4.5, 300SEL 6.3 (1965-1973)

W110 Sedan
190C, 200, 230, 190Dc, 200D (1961-1968)

W111 Sedan/Coupe/Cabriolet
220b, 230S, 230Sb, 220SEb, 200SEb/C, 250SE/C, 220SEb/C, 280SE/C, 280SE/C 3.5 (1960-1971)

SE/C-Class (W112) Sedan/Coupe/Cabriolet
300SE, 300SE/C

SL-Class (R113)
230SL, 250SL, 280SL (1963-1971)

W114 Sedan/Coupe
250, 230, 250C, 280, 280C (1968-1976)

W115 Sedan
220, 230, 220D, 300D, 240D (1968-1976)

180-Class (W120) Sedan
180, 180a, 180b, 180c, 180D, 180Db, 180Dc (1954-1962)

190-Class (W121/R121) Sedan/Coupe/Roadster
190, 190b, 190SL, 190D, 190Db (1955-1963)

SE-Class (W128) Sedan/Cabriolet/Coupe
220SE (1958-1961)

220-Class (W180) Sedan/Cabriolet
220a, 220S (1954-1959)

300-Class (W186) Sedan/Cabriolet
300, 300b, 300c (1951-1957)

300-Class (W188/R188) Cabriolet/Coupe/Roadster
300S, 300Sc (1952-1958)

300-Class (W189) Sedan/Cabriolet
300d (1958-1962)

SL-Class (W198) Gullwing/Roadster
300SL (1954-1962)

I can provide more on some of the exotics and race-versions later if you like as well.

Might suggest that with the exception of those that really stand out like the GULLWING's or Pullman's or SL's
a single forum be created under the title of "Classic/Vintage MB's"
and have the above chassis sections as sub-forums.

Ricky,

under the AMG Section,
can we add a FORUM titled: Classic AMG

with the following featured cars:

1971 300SEL 6.3 & 6.8 AMG
W126 450/560 SEC/SEL/SLC AMG
1985 : W201 190E 2.3-16v AMG

and whatever other one-off and special customer version AMGs were made in the 1980's and early 1990's.

Thanks,
Carlos

Good idea, and great to see other people appreciate/highlight the history, heritage and pedigree of Mercedes-Benz

As I'm done with modern mercs (for the minute) this would be great as I have still got a '55 220a and a '72 W108.

There are loads on here who have older mercs not catered for.

A general classic/vintage forum would be great ( I don't like the "other" site that has this forum)

Should we not put a post in OT or "General Mercedes Discussion" to see how many would want this?

Don't worry about that, I've already brought it up with the rest of the staff, right now it's just how we are going to create the forums and the order.

Seeing how we are the largest Mercedes forum, it is only fair we address the more unique and special Mercedes!

Ricky is there any way that we could get regional forums as well. That we we could all discuss local MB Meets and whatnot. Are you the administrator of this forum? I had no idea, wow thats impressive

Fellas, staff is discussing the addition of a Classic forum, and it's attendant subforums.

I do have a question, though. Do you see it as a problem if we subdivide the Classic section into too many subs? I ask because we currently have a few "modern" forums that have minimal readership and participation. Not representing the staff, my personal question is whether making too many forums would result in 2-3 600 Pullman enthusiasts talking only among themselves. The option would be to have fewer subfora in which a larger number of members might more freely participate. Such as :

Classic Mercedes Benzes
..........Classic Sedans
..........Classic Coupes
..........Classic Cabriolets and Roadsters
..........Vintage Racing and Performance MBs
..........Classic Events (catch-all regional gatherings)

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. But it is part of the quandry we go through when thinking about expanding the site. We want the result to be active, vibrant forums in which lots of members participate.

Your thoughts are always welcome...

Personally I would prefer a general "Classic" forum. There are plenty of specialist sites on the web covering individual models for those who want that in depth knowledge.

As you say if there are too many subfora (strange word!) then there will be little traffic.

Carlos, what do you think?

I agree Terry.

MB-Bob's idea carries great merit.
My only suggestion, is that some of the more popular timeless classics, such as the 300SL Gullwing and 190SL Roadster (and possibly others) probably be highlighted with their own "subfora"

I would just like to add that, if you do go down the path of subforums, Carbriolets should probably be grouped with Coupes rather than Roadsters

We now have a Classics forum, with two sub-forums. One for general discussion of the Vintage (1970) and older cars, and another forum for those members who own any of these gems.

Please look for the forums here... https://mbworld.org/forums/classic-v...-vehicles-150/

Participation in these two forums will determine whether there will be additional (more model specific) sub-forums.
