Any chance we can go to bigger avatars?
The current size avatars are OK if you want to focus on a single element (hood ornament, AMG badge, etc.). They current size restriction really requires some thinking and a sense of graphic artistry to create one that is unique and significant enough to be memorable. However, for those who simply want to show a front or rear view of their car, it's just too small.
I would advocate twice the current width be allowed (130 pixels) with 100 pixels for height (minimum). Possibly 130 pixels tall.
The goal would be to increase the size to one that would not increase the width of the left-hand column, with height parameters that do not increase the average height of a standard 4-5 line post.
In short, I think more folks would post avatars if they didn't require some Graphic Arts expertise to design them to fit the restrictive 65 x 65 size.
