This may be a stretch also but here goes - How about making it a mandatory # of posts/or time frame - 6 month before someone can list something in the classifieds?This way it prevents someone from signing up just to sell something ( car , GAS CARDS ) and then abandoning the forum.Just a thought.

 

Sounds like a great idea, but that really prevents the lurkers from being able to contribute to the forum (i.e. sell something).

I'll bring it up with the other moderators though, I think there is a lot of merit in what you say!

 

Its not a bad idea. But if you look through the forums you will find that people will post ads all over the place and not just in the classifieds. Therefore, at the present, I find it hard to see how such a suggestion could be implemented.
