It's been like this ever since the recovery from the crash. Are the admins reading this? Please look into fixing this.

Well, it goes without saying that using MBWorld is a privilege, not a right. But more importantly, you guys need to get your system put together. For example, here's mine:

1) Click a thread on MBWorld.
2) Go to csportcoupe in another Mozilla tab, look in the Parking Lot forum.
3) Check out news at Slashdot.
4) Look at the Tech Help forum at mercedesshop.
5) Click back to the MBWorld tab when it's done loading.
6) Repeat, checking out different forums at the other sites each time...

This is not a very professionally run site, as is evident in the post documenting the crash. Sadly it is ultimately the fault of the administrators and their poor management and planning that allowed the failure to occur, and I think they will readily admit that. I'm sure the hosting service is the cheapest they could find, and you do get what you pay for. Investing in a better hosting service, or on better hardware would not be cost effective, as I can't imagine this is a high revenue producing site. The ROI for this is simply not there.

Enjoy the site for what it is, an amateurish web board that has some interesting folks, and a place where you can learn more about the cars you enjoy driving!

It's slow, so what, we can't do anything about but complain and/or leave. I just wish the posting of pics wasn't as slow, but hey, the thing has to seach through it's database to see replicas of the pics!

It is FREE.

It has a lot of Traffic.

Who is going to pay for any upgrades?

Would you pay to be on the site or would you want it to become a pay site?

???????

I will just accept it like it is and hope that it can be fixed somehow.

It reminds me of those homeless people that beg you for some change and you give them 35 cents (which is all you have in your pocket) and then they take it and give you a dirty look like "that's it?". We need to just be thankful for what we have while we have it, cause it wasn't too long ago the forums were down and we weren't sure if it was ever coming back up.

I love jpb5151's advice, that is what I do. Actually, now that the forum is so slow, I'm able to actually do some work in between posting.

Keep up the good work admins.

I blame it all on 20FHK02 and the "Paint all over the interior" thread. You guys should see how many "Guests" there are looking at that thread. All at the same time too! Check out Who's online in your user control panel and count how many are reading it!

Ok guys why not do this, it works over at aleromod somewhat to help fund a fast server for the forums.

Ask for a donation for the site or even so come up with a package deal and do a "reserved" member or soemthing along those lines. On aleromod its a "VIP" which includes a pop email addy/and uploading gallery/ and a private forum to post whatever ( forums rules are looser there) its about $20 a yea but then again, $20 is a tank of gas. Im sure some people can spare that for a forum they use quite often.

Most of the time the admin will have to fork out some cash but thats where the members come in to help.

OMFG Exactly what I do just replace the slash dot w/audiworld and #3 w/bnzsport lol

I do agree it is slow too, but like its been said-Guess what its free For once though I think MBWorld should take a page out of bnzsports book. They should make premium member status that would allow a premium member to upload pics and whatever extra goodies(ex custom member status etc)you can think of. Non payees would be restricted to just post and img pics. Then the admin can use the money to speed up the server or whatever is needed

While I don't agree with the charges I do belive the administrators can get this site back to normal, the question is when?

Moderators and administrators please give us an agile mbworld !

Folks: we hear you and we are working on this.

As a side note, it REALLY upsets me when I hear things like "this site is not run professionally" and the "admins readily admit being at fault", "they've chosen the cheapest hosting services", etc. Unless you have first hand knowledge of what goes on here, please refrain from making false statements like that. If you even knew what it takes to manage a site like this and the out-of-pocket costs involved. EVERYONE on this side works for FREE and on their own time- please be a little sensitive to that. Thanks.

Being one of the few active MBworld Mafioso's, do you want us to take care of them?

I think we're ok now, but standby the phone- I may elect that option in the near future
