FS: Carat Duchatalet Lowering kit for W124 300E, E320
This kit will lower the car approximately an inch, without sacrificing ride quality. I had this kit on my car for a couple of years and just recently swapped it out with a much stiffer setup from an E420 Sportline. You will need a proper Mercedes spring compressor to install the front springs.
The kit will NOT work on any station wagon models (300TE / 300TD), any V8 models (400E / 500E), or any model with self-leveling rear suspension (SLS).
$450 for everything you see in the photos below.
I also have the matching Carat Duchatalet wheels (17 x 8.0 ET38) for sale, a complete set of five (yes, five)... click here for a photo, email me for details...

Makahveli, the Carat front springs are slightly thinner wire diameter than Sportline, with a tiny bit less coils & free length. The rears are similar. The approximate result is lower ride height but not a big change in stiffness. The shocks are Bilsteins, valved to Carat specs, but that's about all I know.
For your coupe, I'd lean towards the factory Sportline springs, since there are all different sizes available, allowing you to "tune" the height to where you want it. And yes, 18x8.5 is huge for a standard 124, you'll want to roll the fender lips as much as possible, if you haven't already!
As you said, slammed may look cool, but it's not very practical on the street. I'd aim for approx 14 inches from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender lip, front & rear, with a full tank of fuel. On my diesel I had to use a 400E Sportline spring up front to get it high enough!
BTW, photos of the Carat kit moved to this link. I can't edit the first post, sorry!
