Key not turning mercedez benz C240
I have this 2002 c240 and the battery went bad and got changed but now my key wont turn. People have told me its the eis but the dealership tells me I have to change the entire system I am wondering if I change the electronic control module which runs me about 800 as the part and I am willing to change it myself. What I am wondering is if I can change the ECM or do I have to pay the 1400 dealer fee.

When your key does anything happen? Does the engine try and start? I had a similar thing happen to my 2009 C300 where all the lights turned on and the radio would work but the car wouldn't start. Turned out to be the EIS and steering lock.

Actually that sounds like exactly what it has can I fix this problem myself or do I need to go to the dealer and do it?
