Aftermarket Stereo installation

I am looking for help fitting an aftermarket stereo to my w447, 111cdi, mercedes vito panel van, 2015 model. I have a Kenwood dmx7017dabs stereo and have purchased the connects 2 CTKMB17 instalation kit which includes several wires for adapting the wiring. I have included the instalation instructions in this thread as a pdf. I am having trouble understanding which wires attach where, specifically for retaining steering controlls. Also any advice on the best place to wire the ignition wire (yellow wire on the connects 2 harness) would be greatly appreciated as well.

Below is the kenwood wiring diagram and the best match I could find for the pin diagram on the back of the OEM stereo.
