HID Fog Lights C300

Has anyone been able to purchase or find the h7 bulb holder for the fog lights. The original h7 bulb holder cannot be used for the HID fog light bulb. After searching through the forum, I have found some ways do modify the holder, but they dont seem to reliable. Anyone have any suggestions or information, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

HI,

The slim is just half the size.

the regular size ballast is 3" x 4" x 1" thickness
the slim is 2" x 3" x 1/2" thick

The slim is a little bit more stable then the regular ballast and it's $15 more.
But you'll still get the special $15off using coupon code: fspecial-m

Thanks~

HI,

So your car came with Halogen instead of HID? or you needed new ballast for your current D2S?? I"m confused, if you already have HIDs, then all you need is the bulbs, if not then you will need to exchange to a whole new kit under the bulb type H7, which you can just purchase another kit and return the bulbs for a refund. Thanks~

HI,
We do not carry 55w for the following reason

1.) 55 w is only 15% brighter than the 35w
2.) because of it's higher wattage, it burns out the bulb and the ballast itself faster.
3.) 55w is 2-3 times more expensive than 35w.

Therefore it is not worth getting or selling the 55watt.

We do have H7 bulb type, what color would you like and I can get you the link.
Thanks~

Question Slim ballast inside headlight housing

I'm not sure if that question has been asked before; I looked and couldn't find an answer.

Here are my questions,

I got the H7 6000, slim ballast kit for 1999 E430, I didn't want to drill a hall in the back cover so when I installed the kit yesterday I was able to fit the whole thing inside the headlight hosing and close the cover.

  1. Did anyone try that before?
  2. Am I risking milting my headlights from the head generated from the ballast and the voltage converter?
  3. Any other risk doing that or I should be fine?
I don't want to melt my original headlights

Thanks!!

So if I have HID already and just want to go 6000k, I only need to order the bulbs for the lo beams or bulbs and capacitors? For fogs I would need entire kit?

Hi,

Yes, if you have HID in your car already, you just need the bulbs in the color that you want and not the whole kit, just to make sure, what is your YR MAKE MODEL.

If you already have HIDs then capacitor is not needed for the regular HID but you will need the kit and the special capacitor for your fogs.

Let me know your YR MAKE MODEL and I'lll double check foryou. Thanks!

Michelle

Hi,

Your bulb type is

2003 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (With halogen capsule headlamps)
Low beam headlamp
H7
High beam headlamp
H7
Fog/Driving light
9006

What color would you like? You will need to purchase each kit separately using express checkout and the coupon code: fspecial-m and make sure to note in the additional comment area that you have a 03 CLK500 so we know to send you special capacitors for all beams. Thanks!

Received my kit yesterday, installed today. Took about an hour, but the second bulb only took about 5 minutes. Will post night pics and initial impressions later.

Your H7 socket look a little different then mine but see if you can do what I did on mine to get that factory tight fit.
