+1.... the speed dial transfers to the Nav keys and the phone book downloads instantly into the Nav too.

Voice Command works fine too, except it does NOT control Sirius, only the phone, radio, NAV, and CD. I haven't had it auto connect to my Razor however. I have to "enable" bluetooth on the phone when I get in. Am I doing something wrong Dragon?

My old Razr had worked perfectly to sync up without any problems with full access to the phone book. I replaced the razr with the new LG8600 and it sync up without a problem but no phone book and speed dialing. Anyone know any new phone that will work well. I imagine the Kazr should work well so I am contemplating in returning the LG8600 for a Kazr. I'm just looking for a good phone that is as small as possible with good battery life not really interested in a smart phone but will get it if that's the best.

Anyone know if this will work? I haven't got the Mercedes phone option in my 05 E55. I believe it can be dealer installed but is expensive. I'm not sure if Mercedes runs any wires to the console in cars that didn't order the phone option? With this new bluetooth device I was wondering where the stock phone cradle plugs into the Command system? Maybe with this new bluetooth device it's position in the car could be almost anywhere since a bluetooth enabled phone doesn't need the cradle in the console. I was wondering if I could put the bluetooth device in the glovebox and plug it into the command system? In other words avoid having to have the dealer install the V-60 phone cradle and wires all the way to the console. Anyone follow the concept I'm thinking of here?

I think if you have today's phone installed, you will not need the BT puck. It is my understanding that it was designed for those of us with dinosaur Motorola V60 phones w/cradle to enter the 21st century. I could be wrong, but I think most 2005 MBs are "phone ready" from the factory with the necessary wires run wherever they need to be.
I have a Motorola Razr and it works fine with my set-up. It is also on the list of MB approved phones on the http://www.wireless4mb.com website - have a look there too.

2006 and earlier models will need to have the phone kit installed for the BT puck to work. And if you have the older Tiimeport like I did in my 2002 E55, you will need to upgrade the PSE and the V60 cradle also. My 2006 E55 had the phone kit installed at the VPC center prior being ship to the dealer. It will be expensive to have it install at the dealer so your best option is to find parts at the Ebay( I did for the V60 cradle) and install it yourself. Then you will need to bring in your car to get the phone activated through Star Diagnose computer since it never had the phone installed. I have a strong preference to the OEM bluetooth system because its integration is completely seamless.

I have the Bluetooth setup in my 2000 E55. Parts I needed:
Bluetooth puck
V60 cradle
Newer PSE
and my friend with a STAR diagnostics multiplexer to do something to my car's computer so it would recognize the newer PSE.
The phone works great! all steering wheel controls work, the voice recognition works. life is good. send me a message if you have any questions on getting this installed in a 1998-2000 E55.

You can also just plug in a Argos and be done with it (not a bunch of parts to source, or Star Diag to worry about). There has been about 11,000 of them installed....and they work great. Same or even better than the factory setup with puck, tail, PSE etc.

To save some money you can use the BMW V60 BT as well. I just bought one about a month ago (BMW V60 used for $130 of ebay) and it works perfect. It just says "Do want to connect to BMW BT now?" on my phone...outside of that it links and works flawlessly.
I had just happen to notice the BMW BT pucks were cheaper than the MB's...so I called Motorolla and they verified they were the same unit and it will say BMW BT and not MB BT...

I just bought 2002 e55, I'm facing the same issue. There a site where I can figure out what system I have and what parts I need? It looks like I have phone functionality but not a phone cradle. I want to setup for Bluetooth with phone control for my iphone. Sounds like croweld had the answer I need if there are details available.
