With all this black grill talk..i did my own..

After thinkin about this at work for hours on end while looking at Stealth Auto's deal on a grill, i went home and immediately yanked the grill off and used some gun metal paint (which will wash off if i don't like it) to paint the grill. no prep work, just spray on and let it dry. heres a quick job.
also pulled the plate off to see how much cleaner it would look...

so what do you think, worth painting it black?

I prefer the stock silver look. The 210s especially are better suited to the silver grill.

I like the black better but you can't really tell in the second picture to due it being so dark. With a black grille you also need a flat badge too. I bought the black grille from the other thread and had it color-matched to my car by a body shop:

yea, thats my roomies bike. he is riding thru the winter here in MN...personally i think he is nuts! mine and the other roomies are parked in the formal living room..

Again guys, the grill is painted a gun metal color, NOT black. its the only paint i could find that is washable... hence non permanent.

GlassJAw: yea, i am thinkin about a flat emblem. more specifically a Brabus version, with brabus wheel center caps, and perhaps a Brabus logo on the rear. why, i dunno, just cuz i got Brabus wheels and thats all... LOL...

but you guys, if you look at the grill more closely, you will see that the chrome trim actually clips into the main grill. i plan on buying another beat up grill, and painting the chrome part of it. the centers are already painted black, so i can just leave those be...

as mentioned def need a flat badge, and also needs lowering

other than that, going off of glassjaw's pic, the black grill works.

I hate it. The euro spec is actually the one that comes on the entry level Mercedes.

I love the black grille look, but as mentioned and as you are thinking you have to do the flat emblem. It looks much more sporty. Just my 2 cents.

after looking at your pics, i'm considering to paint mine then.

can you advise me on the paint you've used?
I'm in Thailand but not sure whether i can find it. So I'd like to see your paint packaging looks like.

Flat hood emblem is a must mann!!!
