How does E55 differ from other E-series cars?
The things I can think of offhand are:
1) Bigger engine, handbuilt
2) Better brakes
3) More standard interior features (sunroof, blue tinted windows, etc.)
What I wasn't sure about is the suspension, body styling, or anything else. Anything you can add would be appreciated.

In other countries, E-class is sold in three trim levels, Classic, Elegance, and Avantgarde.
"Normal" USA E-class arrive in Elegance trim.
AMG E-class are by definition Avantgarde trim, but then added to that are some body styling, suspension, and engine changes.
"Smoke" taillights (LED on W211) are normal Avantgarde fare.
Note also that for W210, speedo and tach face for Avantgarde and AMG are grey, while lower models are black.
