e55 problem "HELP"

I have a problem with my w210 E55.
The problem is that sometimes the gas pedal response is very very slow. To give a example i was stopped at traffic lights today and when the lights went green i pushed the gas pedal to the floor but nothing happens for at least 4 or 5 seconds then the car suddenly drives off.
But if i turn the car off then back on then everything is back to normal.
Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by flooring?

Car has tons of torque and it could be that the traction control takes over so that you do go ahead and spin all over :P

Try to smoothly accelerate and see if that happens again.

nothing to do with traction control.LOL
It just a huge delay in the revs and car starting to move.
It also is not a everyday problem its happened about 4 times in the last 6-7 weeks. But as said earlier as soon as i turn the car off and back on it goes back to normal.
