that it appears that H&R does not offer a specific set for 55, what brand should I choose? I think Kleeman has a specific #, maybe Renntech, suggestions? The US spec spring is just too soft and too high. I'd like to do springs only as I want a quick return back to stock if necessary. Appreciate the suggestions, thanks.

I am not aware of anyone that has an E55 specific spring set. The main choices are Eibach or H&R. Kleemann and Renntech will probably be either of these, as neither manufactures their own springs, AMG too, sources their spring from these suppliers.
Eibach doesn't lower the car as much and is softer, H&R is lower and firmer. Hope this helps

H&R, and most other companies, design their aftermarket springs to make all of the cars handle better (to a specific degree). Thus, an e55, with H&R springs and the same shocks as an e320 with H&R springs, would handle the same.

Ben, what are you guys...

using on your E55 setup? You use the Koni shocks, but what springs? I've got a couple of older customers who won't go for too harsh, so springs only seems to be the best bet...Wonder if the Kleeman springs are a good way to go?

Sure, go with the Kleemann springs. I personally don't find H&R's harsh, but I believe the Kleemanns are softer. I would recommend the complete Kleemann Suspension first. Installation time is about 45 minutes to an hour more to install shocks and springs than it is just to do springs (you take the same pieces off). Our E55 currently has H&R European E55 springs and Koni Adjustable Shocks.

I put the hr sport springs, which hr uses for the 430 also, and since the car is lol
lowered slightly I had to put Bilstein sport shocks on. It's a really firm ride and on
on bumpy road you get tossed a bit, but it corners really flat. someone at bilstein s
bilstein said that the stock shocks on the e55 are slightly differently valved basic
basic bilstein, somewhat stiffer than the comfort shocks.
