E55 Battery Question
I can't tell if the Battery been replaced or if it the orignal Battery. There no marking on top (ie. Date..)
Also, Can I use the Optima Red top battery? IT a sealed battery so you guy think it would be ok?
I am in the process of hooking up an amp and a subwoofer so Can i use the Optima Battery or get a factory 100amp battery??

Now she start right up without hasitation or dimiming the instrument light.
That how all my instrument warning light and window problem started. I recommend to who ever going to replace there battery to keep a battery charger on the terminal in the engine compartment to keep the system alive. This save you the headache later.
ALso, I noticed it idel very smooth in the morning now, and it feel faster and more responsive. I guess the CPU got fully reset somehow. I try the gas paddle cpu reset and it nothing compare to unpluging the battery.

Or maybe it just a new Battery, who know

Over all I'm happy with the $150 battery the dealer**** rip me off. They quote me $128 and i wrote it down but when I saw the invoice it was almost $150
they denied of course. no big deal
oh well..what do you expect from MB stealership

Oh btw, their service department and people SUCK!! bunch of rude *** people. now that i got that out of my system i feel much better

Did i say that

Really, it does add 50hp more to your car with a new battery, not..

I said unplugging the battery reset the computer and it feel faster and more responsive.

As for the battery i notice no more rough idle, no more instrument light dimiming and less hasittation when starting in the morning.
Also, I have an amp and subwoofer in the trunck when I crank it up the instrument light doesn't flicker or dim like it use too.
Maybe the old battery in there is about to crap out. who know.. i rather provent it than let it happen later.

I know Autozone sell the Duralast for half the OEM price, but MB battery is made in Germany or Spain. If Sear make a Diehard battery i would probably but it but not a Duralast

You think Energizer make MB Battery, that bunny rabbit sold me, i like there advertising

[/quote]actually the Duralast battery is made by the same company, Mercedes doesn't make batteries lol, they just rebadge put their name on it.
also if you check the specs Duralast one has more power, fits perfect, and comes with 7 year warranty.
MB doesn't do that since they'd rather sell you another overpriced one sooner than 7 years.
i had no clue either until a few years ago, learned about them on the e46fanatics, been using them every since in multiple cars
