thinking ahead - what car after W210 E55??

i'll be consolidating my stable and will have only 1 car in the near future. I'll be keeping my E55 for now but what car will you guys get after the E55?

B/c I'll have only 1 car, any 2 seater/coupes like SL55, M3, Porsche 911 are out. I'm thinking:

current BMW 7 series (after facelift)
W220 S55 AMG
W211 E63
W211 E550 sport
Infiniti M45

what do u think?

E63
E63. I made the move to the E63 from the W210 AMG after a car accident. It is a huge jump overall from the W210 to W211. Styling, handling, comfort, power, and speed are a big difference between the two. The E63 is very nimble and hugs the corners nicely compared to the W210 E55. If you like mid-sized then the E63.

Otherwise, if you're looking for more room then maybe the S-Class or 7-series.

Easy one- E63. Looks fresh, you'll notice the huge leap in power and handling, more than enough space too.

750Li makes a great vehicle if you need space but it's no E63 if you're passionate about cars.

Infiniti is, imo, awfully ugly and blah, while with the E550 you'll miss the AMG touches and cache you're accustomed to.

However, don't forget about the M5. That would be my personal choice as unpopular as that may be around here.

I most likely will be making the jump to the 211 E55 as they should be dirt cheap by then. The low cost will offset the reliability issues as well as the cost to get things fixed.

I agree and would also consider a newer W211 E55. I spoke to Renntech who recommended that I go with the E55 vs. E63 because it's easier and less expensive to mod and will be a lot faster (modded) than the E63 for less money.

i'll pass on the E55k, i dont have much faith in FI (forced induction) engines.. much prefer NA V8s. if there was 1 mercedes i'd be scared to own out of warranty is the E55 kompressor.

Not me and I've had decent luck with all of my MB's but I agree with ProV1, I too would be scared of the W211 E55 without warranty.

I don't know how long you're planning on waiting...

If it's pretty soon I'd get a C63 or E63.

Longer term... I'd wait for E63 TT

Well I'm in the process of trading my W210 E55 to a C63 when it comes out.

The new C63 should handle very well with reduced weight (compared to the E63 ) and parts of the black series CLK63 suspension. This, plus the fact that it's engine in "detuned" state; can propel it from 0-100km/hr in 4.5 sec; opens up big opportunities for easy power gains.

With a chip, getting the 514bhp of the E63 should be easily achievable and will probably bring 0-100km/h times down to 4.3 sec ?.... and if u go and get a chip designed for E63 and pop it into that of the C63... maybe even 530-540bhp ?
