hi mate this happened to me only a few days ago..... 1 day it worked next it didn't.... when it stopped i thought it was prob a fuse.. BUT NO....... if your quiet when you press button it clicks so you know power is gettig to it...

Now... i read the motors get stuck.... so much like a starter motor give the motor a hit while pressing the button... now at the time i didn;t have a spare pair of hands nor a friend available to do this while button was pressed so i simply,,,,,,,,

found a bumpy road, like a stone road or soming that liked to move the car about and pressed the button again and again non-stop

sounds stupid but it worked un-stuck motor and works fine now...!!!!!!!

as i didn't want to replace it as by the sounds of things it VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

give it a try... you never kow

my lights didn't dim nor any noise apart fron a tiny click where motor "trying" to work... like when the windows are up and you press them up again there is a little click.....???

or in your case maybe not........?? if there is no click like i said a tiny noise so ver quiet place to check...... try fuses and work from there..... i think the fuse for blind is in engine compartment

Hmmm, maybe if it's dead and nothing is happening, it could be a fuse or something??? Did you check the fuses?

BTW Peter, why haven't you gotten back to me brotha?!

I checked all the fuses, I know the rear shade is on the same circuit as the other accessories in the car and they all working except the shade.

The dealership wnat me to bring it in so they can charge me big buck for telling me it need to be placed.

well, this is just my experience with the rear shade, so please no loud laughing, when i first got the the car would raise and lower shade with day/night, after one very hot day the shade jammed and would not go up but part way...after some reflection (not a pun) i gently pulled the shade up and lowered with push button, after a couple of goes lo and behold shade spits up a rubber strap... point of the story is that stuff comes loose inside the shade mechanism and jams motor from pulling up shade... try manually pulling up shade and checking if motor will pull down... p.s. i have rear window tinting now

I found a used rear shade assembly but it is listed for 1996-1999. Does anyone know if there any different between those year and 2000-2002? Are they the same part?

Can someone please verfiy the part number off a 96-99 against 00-02?

Also, how hard is it to remove and replace the rear shade assembly?

thank for any help
