Someone please help me out!

Can someone tell me if the object in the photo can be removed without damaging or making anything not function correctly. Problem is my buddy has a brand new set of custom 3 piece rims from his rim line and the rear fits perfect, but the front wheel as u see in the photo cannot clear the center cap. The wheels in the photo are the Sevas R77 by the way a new 3 piece forged rim.

That is your wheel bearing cap that cannot be made smaller it covers your wheel nut and keeps the grease from leaving your brake rotors. So what you can do is place a small wheel spacer behind your front wheels with longer wheel nuts to hold everything together. Ernie’s Porsche Alloys in Miami 13640 NW 19th Ave Opa Locka, FL 33054 (305) 685-5295 can sell you the spacers he custom makes and the longer nuts. There are a few wheel companies who also make spacers you have to make sure they have a lip mounted on them to keep your wheel from moving from center for balance. I used these on my older Mercedes with AMG wheels from Ernie and had no problem at speeds up to 145 mph. Wheels look great these should work for you.

Thanks for the info Dawson , since you had experience with this already. Do you think im gonna have to sacrifice tire size? and it's most likely gonna increase my chances of rubbing which i dont want. You think i should just have a new set made to be on the safe side of things? Any input would be appreciated.

If your friend owns the wheel company then have a new set made and have the offset in the wheel hub made to clear your wheel bearing cap so you don't need spacers because spacers suck and can have problems down the road. Ernie’s spacers are the best I’ve seen and used but nothings better then a custom made wheel for your car. I have not changed my E55 wheels due to liking the factory AMG look but others here have and at benzworld so search both places there are lots of info on tire and wheel fitment for our cars. Once you do your research then have your new wheels made to those spec.
