DId you reset it?? My service light came on and I was playing with the buttton and it rest to 10,000 and count down ever since.
You must have reset it or someone did.

Nothing's wrong.... the counter is based on mileage and time. I once didn't drive much of my C55.... 1 year and 3000 miles later, she asked to be serviced.
So no biggie.... just be certain you or someone else didn't reset it at close to 0-mile mark. Otherwise, it would mean you missed or would miss the service.
But service A is just an oil change... you could do it your own

Not sure if you are clear on the service reminder. Your next service A is currently in 9700 mi. The reminder will show every 100 mi. In other words, after you have driven 100 miles it will flash Service A in 9600 mi. and continue to count down until your reach 0. Service A is, for the most part, just an oil change...$250. at the dealer.
