New mod X-Pipe! I found a muffler shop near me that does great work, and I like the way it came out. The sound is more like an AMG should sound like. Thanks guys for all your post on this mod.

Very niceee... how much was it and what kind of a sound does it produce, also any increase in hp? I would be willing to do it, after fixing my rough idle, bad MPG problem. LOL

Yes about 5 HP/TQ+ here is a post that goes over the whole process. $200.00 Nice low deep performance sound.

ive got a custom catback on mine with res/ delete and a flowmaster muffler, flowmaster... yes i know it sounds redneck but my mechanic told me it would sound good and it really does. it has a deep rumble at idle, but when you crack on the throttle it opens up and has this deep growl... i love it

Takes the Mercedes lux out and AMG muscle sound in! All E55 owners need to do this mod for the sound and the extra HP is a plus. And when you pull up anywhere people will respect your AMG and it does not sound like a Camaro or Mustang.

Hey good to hear that you want this great mod. You need to get the x-pipe and 2 45-degree bent pipes. You also have to tell them how you want this install completed. They just did my car so they will remember it. Arrow Muffler 14545 NW 7 AVE. Miami, FL 305-688-0574 they've been doing this work since 1958 and they had a race team for many years. The neighborhood isn’t the best but as you see there work stands for it's self. Print my photos and take them and show them what you want. They charged me $80.00 and took about 30 min. Enjoy the sound!

Buy it on ebay theres a bunch on there as well as the SS pipes. They have SS pipes at the muffler shop as well, but I don't know how they bend them. Maybe go by and see what they offer you before the install.

Yes, the one on ebay is SS and very well made, that's the one I bought and had installed. I also bought the bent pipes on ebay too for a good deal. If I can find the links to both I will post.

And the MAGNAFLOW 2 1/4" 2.25" Tru-X SS X Pipe. Here's one:

Nice x-pipe but I got mine from somewhere else but that's the same place I got the bent pipes. How does it sound? It sounds perfect, like the way the car should have sounded from the factory!
