WTB w210 E55 AMG !
Hello, i was seeking an E55 amg couple months ago ..
but now i'm back for good..actually my 202 is sold and I have couple weeks max to find my E55..
I'm located in Montreal - canada..and there is nothing here for sale..or price are just rediculous..32 000$ for an E55 w210? mmm ok..whatever.
So if anyone has one..year range 2000-2002 ..no 1999.
mileage don't scare me, they are tank !
color , any is fine.
prestine condition...
answer me back, ps : i will pay the $$ to deliver the car here..or if it's not too far from me i can go grab it, thanks !

your post is quite timely.
i'm about to give my pristine silver/blk 2001 E55 94k miles to my 69 yr old mom. she don't need the power, but i wanted to because i know how reliable it is and it's super clean. however, other MBworld guys suggest it's too much power for her. it's very loaded including cool/heat seats, parktronics and not a single scratch(no navi). in fact, many friends still think that the car smells new.
my car's been super reliable this past year as i had MB Oakland check it out prior to purchase. the prior owner had MB serviced including ignition coils, sparkplugs, etc... during my ownership, all i've needed to do is 2 mobile one oil change, air filter, and new BF G rear tires this month.
i've driving lots of E55 and this one is super strong. the one thing about my E55 that i haven't been able to figure out is the occasional squeek from plastic rubbing on the front right door. i hear that teflon coating can help, but i haven't done it yet.
i plan to make a decision soon...just let me know what information you want, or if you want to get it checked out by any dealers in the SF area.

You may need to register though. Other than that this car is excellent.
Oh BTW, pls. do not put those kind of rims on the E55
(like the one you have on your W202) they are so ugly.

This is cool. I registered on this web-site to post exactly the same thread, but you beat me to it. I am thinking about getting 01 or 02 e55. I researched couple web-sites, and like every car it got its problems. MAF and Dash cluster is the most common problems for those cars.
I am planning to spend around 25k for this car. What do you guys think I will able to get? I found one locally (DC metro area), and a guy wants 26k for 02 with 50k miles on it? By checking other sales I think thats too much.
I checked eBay and cars.com, and those cars are just not selling. For past 3 weeks none of the cars I was following were sold. Is it a resale value that bad?
Thanks!

from my experience when i was looking two years ago, there were lots of crappy cars out there that were not cared for. i can't believe what people consider "excellent" condition. my favorite way to find cars is from home owners in nice houses who get their cars serviced by MB dealers so i can see ALL their service records, including all the items reco'd but they declined. imo, it's better to pay $3k more for a E55 that previous owner paid $6-10k in quality maintenance over a 5 yr period than having to pay the eventual $6-10k out of pocket. as for not selling, i think often times it's because the car's not clean or the prices are too high. occasionally, there's just a 2-6 week slow period before prices firm up once those supplies are gone.
gd luck.

personally, i don't think 02 for $26k asking is too high, esp for only 50k...perhaps if you're serious, seller might budge a little.

Thank you for your reply. The reason I wrote that the price is high, because there is one in Delaware for $29k with 44,000 miles, but it is pre-certified and comes with some warranty. I don't want to lowball people. Just by checking eBay it looks like KBB value worth nothing in these days. I totally agree with you about paying extra if the person took good care of the car. Service records are a must for this kind of cars. I am not in a rush to buy a car, but there are 20 cars out there, and none of them are sold yet.
Zoink. Your cousin got a great car, but I don't want another car with 90k miles on it. Too many things are breaking up in 90-100k miles range.

Before you do anything else you better read up on the requirements
