Sorry for the crappy phone pic, but this W210 was sporting not only E42 on the left and ///AMG on the right but also E42 AMG on his plates. It had AMG wheels, or at least replicas, but otherwise looked like a very stock W210. If I see it again, I'll try to get a better pic.

Nope, got you guys beat hahaha... 1 month ago, at Sandbar in North Scottsdale, I saw a 'thug' and his friends all standing around their parked car, a CLK AMG... What badging did this guy have on? CLK65 on the left, AMG on the right...

HAHA, all this on his 98 320CLK. How do I know its a 320? He still had on the 320 alloy wheels as well as it had the 'two-tone' unpainted side skirt. Well let me rephrase that, it wasn't side skirts, just the bottom piece. HA!

On the flip side my favorite mod that I saw was an E55 with the 55, AMG and Kompressor badges stripped and an "E320" badge on the rear, lol. Wow, talk about a sleeper, lmao...

It's not what people do to their cars that causes our comments, it's the misbadging and being imposters that causes the riot. I mean if someone wants to try and fit 22" spinners on their C or E class and put a cruisin sticker in their back window that's up to them and I have nothing to say because they like it. But when someone puts a false emblem and tries to make the car something it's not, it causes our cars to look like crap to the people that have no idea about our cars in the first place. Know what I mean?

No kidding. I didn't realize when I first picked up my E55 that there was so much aesthetic difference between an E55 and the others. Then I began seeing other W210's.

Funny thing is, where I park downtown Portland, there is a guy that parks 2 blocks from me with an identical E55 to mine. Obsidian Black, black leather interior.

On the upside, I like how people recognize that it's a MB and that there is a little something special about it, but unless they KNOW what it is, they really have no idea.

Modify the engine & suspension for sure, but the bodywork looks better stock.

not to be a spoiler.. but it does have AMG rims and an HWA made body kit. Its probably a 420 sport. If he would have badged it an E55 the only way to tell its not legitimate yould be under the hood or the interior.

Someone at an arizona meet tried to pass off a 99 E430 sport as a E55 the only giveaways were the seats, and steering wheel. He had everyone convinced it was a 55 AMG no one questioned it until i showed up. I didnt say anything I just dropped hints. "Like hmmm those are different seats" Yeah this is a 99 they had different seats. Then i started thinking maybe this guy really thinks it is an e55. There really isnt much of a difference between the 430 and the 55 sadly. Sports with an AMG exhaust look exactly like a 55. Thats the sad thing about these cars is nothing was really done to make them different.
