You have to buy it from a MBZ dealer, the need to program it work with your car. Just provide proof of ownership title, registration, & driver license.

I got the valet key with my 98 E430 but not my 02 E55. I ordered one (for 02 E55) at the dealer parts dept and no programming was needed. They ordered it from MBZ and I just picked it up at the parts counter and walked out the door.
