What is the function of Differential ? Is it related to Speed ?
The Mechanic told me that the Differential needs to be changed. What is its function, and is it suppose to effect the Power / Torque etc. in my E55 AMG (2000 Model)?

In short, a differential allows the rear wheels to travel at different speeds in a turn. The outside wheels travel a longer distance (turn faster) than the inside wheels.
What problem are you having? Differentials very seldom fail.
